Spays and Neuter Surgery

Our veterinarian can perform spay and neuter surgeries on dogs, cats, and most exotic animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, sugar gliders, etc.). We recommend spaying and neutering dogs and cats at 6 months of age.  Having this surgery can prevent hormonal behavior and some cancers, and of course, pregnancy in females. Your pet will be admitted in the morning and be discharged in the afternoon at a time determined on the day of the procedure.  We book your pet’s discharge based on their recovery. Each pet reacts differently – while some may sleep and take longer to wake up, others may be awake sooner.  It may take between 24 – 48 hours for your pet to fully recover from the effects of the anesthesia but we want to make sure they are alert and able to walk before going home.  When booking your pet’s spay or neuter surgery, please keep in mind that they will be wearing a cone for at least 10 days.
